The Student Council play cards and talk about End of the World.
~story~
Hardly any of the questions from last episode have been answered because when Anthy was explaining the situation to Utena she said she didn't really understand anything about the Rose Seal herself. Which is just great. It's become clear that these duels are what determines who is in control of the Rose Bride (Anthy). It's also revealed that the Student Council receives letters from End of the World. Why they receive these letters and what these letters say is still a mystery but it is known that they do indeed receive them. Utena is spiritually connected with the prince or something because he came down and gave her superpowers during today's fight. But at the end of the day everything is still a mystery and my brain still hurts.

The rose border was more prominent in this episode than last episode just because it was used more frequently. The art itself was significantly better. Much brighter and clearer and hardly blurry (although I blame the player used to view the episode for last episode's terrible video quality). During the fight scene at the most intense parts instead of showing it in all it's glory the screen froze and this spinning white roes appeared on the screen. This occurred when the prince was uniting with Utena and when Utena was delivering the final blow on Saionji. It was really unprofessional looking and just looked cheap. Highly disappointed with that. All intensity from the scene was lost.

The insert song was used once again in this episode. If this is a usual thing we're going to have a problem. It's supposed to pump up the energy watching the fight and make everything more epic but what it really does it make everything more annoying and irritating to listen to cause the song sucks like no other. The lyrics are also the most brainless thing ever (they may have some deep correlation to the series we will discover later - but at this time they're stupid and make no sense and I honestly don't see how they can be deep and thoughtful).

Every character still is mysterious and not much is known about them. The character of Chu-Chu (a mouse or pocket monkey or something cute) was introduced and he is the one who brings in the comic relief. Poor Anthy really has no backbone at all. And it sucks because she can't even have one. Her emotions really don't matter because she is subject to do whatever the person in charge of her says. Saionji needs to be removed from the world immediately. Nobody likes someone who thinks they are all that, and Saionji really does believe that he is the greatest being to walk on the planet. The blue boy (still unnamed) from the previous episode who was having a panic attack has calmed down and seems normal (as normal as the Student Council lets him be that is). The red haired man (still can't remember his name lol) doesn't make a move on anybody this episode and he doesn't say his "Oh yeah baby" line either. Was kinda looking forward to that too... ;;; Wakaba has already begun to be faded out from the series. The biggest complaint about characters would have to be the pointless shadow things that really don't do anything to the story but waste some time. They're pointless and should be removed as soon as humanly possible. Also, Utena has got to be one of the most shallow people ever. It was blatantly obvious that if she lost the duel to Saionji that Anthy would have to go back to being abused by him yet she was going to lose purposely just so she wouldn't have to deal with the Student Council and the Rose Bride. Somebody needs to slap her.

This episode receives a B-. It moved kinda slow (just like last episode) and the weird girls, Utena's stupidity, and the dumb spinning white rose just ruined the whole mood of the episode.
