Revolutionary Girl Utena Episode 6: "Take Care, Miss Nanami!"

I need to take a shower...

Utena, Mickey, and Nanami eavesdrop on Anthy and Touga's plot to "kill" Nanami.

~story~

This episode just screamed filler. And as we can tell by now, the episodes that are fillers have significantly shorter reviews than non-fillers because, well, filler episodes usually aren't that good and usually there's nothing worth noting. This episode felt like it was trying to be funny and it could have been really funny but it was just trying too hard and it felt like it was trying to jam the funny down our throats and it just didn't work. It also moved at a terribly slow pace and was just dull and boring and I couldn't wait for it to just finally be over. The only thing that really happened in this episode was that somebody was trying to "kill" Nanami and that she dated a elementary school boy.

Nanami asks Tsuwabuki to be her boyfriend.

Nothing new.

Nanami uses Tsuwabuki as her bodyguard.

Nothing new.

Young Tsuwabuki

~character~

So Nanami is not only a jealous, incestuous, psychotic freakazoid. She is a jealous, incestuous, psychotic freakazoid who dates boys who are ten years old. That is illegal here in America and she would be paying some hard time for that. You know, if she wasn't an anime character. Touga was the good guy in this episode for saving Nanami from the evil boxing (and random) kangaroo? Still hate him. Mickey has become Utena and Anthy's new BFF which is really cool cause Mickey is one of the better characters in this show. Tsuwabuki is adorable but he probably was a one-episode only character and we probably won't ever hear from him ever again. Saionji also made his return (although only for like twenty seconds) from the depression he went into after Utena beat him at their second duel. His mini-scene was the only funny thing about this episode. It was seriously hilarious. The only time I laughed. The rest of this "funny" episode I sat there with a poker face and didn't make a sound. Saionji appeared out of nowhere and made this dramatic speech about his love for Anthy to Utena and Mickey. They didn't say anything and after a long pause he repeated the last few words which prompted Utena to say "No one asked you." Greatest. Line. Ever. XDXD

Touga saves Nanami.

~overall~

This episode receives a C. It was the most boring episode of this series so far and it didn't help that they were trying to make the unfunny scenes seem funny by shoving it down our throats.

Tsuwabuki asking to be adopted into Touga and Nanami's family.

~prediction diary~

-Next episode will be a filler with some important things in it
-Jury will challenge Utena to a duel

See you next time~
